How much do you know about our little owls ?

The little owl (Athene noctua ) was introduced from Germany between 1906 and 1910. It was hoped that they would control the increasing number of introduced small bird populations, which were becoming a pest for food and grain crops.

Raptors in Schools is a unique programme that allows students and educators to have a close up and personal experience with some of our majestic raptors.

The programme is run by an experienced handler and the audio visual programme tells stories of the  birds, the work of the New Zealand Raptor Trust and cultural, environmental and environmental aspects of raptors.

This programme is also available to service groups, community organisations and rest homes.

A koha is appreciated to offset our expenses.
